Film

Special Screenings/Film Festival Strategies
In the ever popular do-it-yourself spirit of filmmaking, the firm is expert at collaborating with filmmakers who often by-pass traditional distribution for a more effective showcase of their work. As part of this we also collaborate and advise our clients on film festival submissions and strategy. Some of the films we have collaborated on include Love Free or Die, Going Blind, OC 97, California 90142, Out in the Silence and others.
The firm is a veteran at the major international film festivals such as Sundance, Toronto and Tribeca and generally represents a full slate of films and corporate clients at the major festivals. Additionally, MURPHY PR has spearheaded the press for The Nantucket Film Festival, the New York Children’s Film Festival, NewFest: The New York Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and the New York Comedy Film Festival.
MURPHY PR also has strong corporate expertise and is currently working on Film Forward, a joint venture between Sundance Institute and a consortium of federal cultural agencies (NEA, NEH, PCAH and IMLS). The agency was part of the team that launched the inaugural Film Forward initiative and is proud to be on board for the second year. Past corporate clients include IFC Films.
The firm is expert at consulting on DVD Home Entertainment campaigns. Our efforts have resulted in strong coverage in the national and regional consumer outlets in addition to appropriate trade outlets, blogs and online outlets. Clients include ESPN Films and their 30 for 30 Series on Blu Ray and DVD.

As such the agency is expert at both national and regional metered markets initiatives for television series, special events and movies.
